Fanjoy Labrenz Studio Gallery

The studio and gallery occupy 2,300 square feet in an historic renovated 1930’s garage space in downtown Hickory on two levels. The lower level holds the primary shooting bay with studio lighting/backdrops/props and state of the art digital Hasselblad and Nikon cameras. Traditional film image capture and on-site darkroom services are available upon request.

The upper level (overlooking the lower) serves as an exposition gallery and also is used regularly as a venue for musical concerts, poetry readings, lectures by visiting authors, and charity events. We also offer custom framing for clients who require high quality, creative framing options. We use only archival museum quality materials.

In an interview about the couple for Signature Magazine,Kathy Greathouse, co-executive director of the United Arts Council of Catawba County, notes “A measure of a community is the artists who live and work there.Catawba County is simply a better place to live because of Sally Fanjoy and James Labrenz, who elevate photography to an art form while generously mentoring other artists. Their studio, a working, sucessful business in a large, vibrant space, is shared freely for non-profit fundraisers, musical concerts and exhibits by other artists. The contributions of the Fanjoy-Labrenz team are legendary here.”
